What to Expect

Each month, residents are charged by the gallon for the amount of water they have used across the standard billing period. 

• Billing cycles run from the 18th to the 18th of each month. 
• A bill is usually mailed out by the 30th of each month
• Bills are due upon receipt and are past due the first Tuesday of the following month.
• Dates may be affected by holidays.

How To Read My Water Bill

The following sections will be indicated on your physical copy of the water bill, starting at the top of the page. See image below for more information:

• Account Information: This includes your account number, cycle, service address, last payment date & amount, the service period of the current billing cycle, the billing date, and the due date.
• Contact Information: Includes the direct phone number to the Utility Billing Department and the hours of operation, as well as, the after hours emergency number.
• Previous Balance & Payments: This shows the balance of the previous bill and the previous payment made before the current bill was generated.
• Adjustments: This shows any adjustments made to the current bill. This is where leak adjustments or late fee removals will be reflected.
• Balance Forward: This shows any outstanding balance on the account. 
• New Charges: This shows the new charges for the current billing cycle. 
• Account Balance: This shows the total account balance.
• Monthly Usage Chart: This shows the monthly usage (in thousands) for the previous 12 months on the account.
• Current Water Account Activity: This shows the meter number, the previous meter read, the current meter read, the usage for the current billing cycle, and the amount due for water usage. 
• Current Charges: Shows monthly charges for sewer, stormwater drainage, garbage, and recycling services. 
• Amount Due: This shows the total amount due for the account, the due date, and the amount due after the due date. The total due will include any balance forward and the current billing cycle.
• Payment Options: This shows the different payment options.
• Payment Coupon: Includes account information, amount due, due date, and a place to write in the amount enclosed.
